With over a decade of experience in bioinformatics and microbiome analysis, I am passionate about exploring the interplay between microbial communities and their surrondings, whether human, animal, or environmental. My expertise spans the analysis of microbiome data to uncover insights into health, disease, and ecosystem functions, with a focus on translating complex data into actionable outcomes.
After earning my Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Kiel University, where I delved into the relationships between the human gut microbiome, obesity, and type 2 diabetes, I pursued postdoctoral research that furthered my understanding of microbial ecosystems. My work has been published in high-impact journals like Nature Genetics, Cell Host & Microbe, and Gut, reflecting a career dedicated to advancing the field of microbiome science.
Since co-founding Biomcare in 2017, I have had the pleasure of working with field leading companies and experts as they push the field forward both for expanding our general understanding but of key importance, for elucidating how we can turn microbiome insight into praktical value in industry, agriculture and human health. As CEO, I oversee research and development, product innovation, and client relations, ensuring that our solutions not only meet but exceed expectations.
